Over the last week Google+ has stepped up its enforcement of it's own User Content and Conduct Policy regarding display names. According to Google, users are only allowed to use their real name in an attempt to avoid spammers and pranksters who make fake profiles. "To help fight spam and prevent fake profiles, use the name your friends, family or co-workers usually call you. For example, if your full legal name is Charles Jones Jr. but you normally use Chuck Jones or Junior Jones, either of those would be acceptable." So if you create a profile for your band, 'Goat Carcass', you risk suspension. -Better to stick to your given name, Harry Butts. However, if your given name sounds too peculiar as in the following example, you can still be flagged. The same rules apply to blogs, businesses, music labels, etc. for the time being. The web has been overflowed with questions regarding these polices and hashtags like #plusgate are popping up on Twitter. Yet Google for now at least, has stood it's ground.
In the meantime, Goliaths like Mtv have been able to keep their Google+ profile along with Lady Gaga, 50 Cent and Universal Music.

Se pensavate di creare un profilo per la vostra band o per la vostra piccola etichetta con Google+... Beh forse e' meglio se non abbandonate Facebook...
Nelle ultime settimane Google+ ha rinforzato i suoi controlli a livello di contenuti e condotta per quanto riguarda i nomi utilizzati dagli utenti. Secondo Google, agli utenti e' permesso solo di usare i loro veri nomi in un tentativo di evitare l'insorgenza di spammer e falsi profili/profili scherzo. "Per sconfiggere lo spam e combattere profili falsi usate il nome al quale i vostri amici, famigliari e colleghi di solito vi associano. Per esempio, se il vostro nome all'anagrafe e' Charles Jones Jr. ma voi di solito usate Chuck Jones o Junior Jones, uno di questi ultimi due sarebbe accettabile." Quindi se create un profilo per la vostra band (nome di fantasia) Goat Carcass rischiate la sospensione - Meglio se continuate ad usare il vostro nome, Harry Butts. Pero' se il vostro vero nome risulta troppo particolare potreste rischiare lo stesso. Le stesse regole valgono per blog, imprese commerciali, etichette musicali etc., almeno al momento. La rete e' stata sommersa da domande riguardanti queste condizioni e gli hashtag come #plusgate stanno venendo a galla su Twitter. Per ora Google non demorde.
Nel frattempo dei Golia come MTV sono capaci di mantenere il loro profilo su Google+ insieme a Lady Gaga, 50 Cent e la Universal Music...
